Project Hope Ministry Helps Expecting Mothers
Dec 4, 2018
“I am here for them to lean on. I can hold them up until they can hold themselves up.” These are the words of Dawn Still, describing how she approaches her job as Coordinator for the Project Hope ministry of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan. “Project Hope is a prolife ministry to help support mothers who are pregnant,” she explained. “We provide needed services, resources, and referrals.” Many times, Dawn said, her job involves just listening to the women who come to her. “A lot of times, these women don’t have anyone who will listen to them,” she explained. “I empower them by hearing what they have to say. I help empower them with the services we provide.” Dawn is excited about the plans for her ministry in 2019. “Our goal is to start offering parenting classes in the next 6 months at our offices in Royal Oak and Clinton Township,” she said. Also, Project Hope will be opening a new location in Pontiac, in conjunction with the current CCSEM Hispanic and Newcomer Outreach program. Another location is also planned to open in Monroe soon. “In the meantime, I can set up an appointment for women at any of our CCSEM office locations,” she said.
